European Union Residence cards
Citizens of the European Union need not have a residence card as long as their national identity card or passport has not expired. They can then apply to the Town Hall reception desk to obtain a European Union residence card.
Residence permit for citizens or other countries
Citizens of countries from outside the European Union require a residence permit.
European elections
Citizens of European Union countries may vote in European and local elections, after 6 months residence. The following are required for registration to vote: a valid identity card or passport and proof of residence. Apply to the Town Hall reception desk.
Vehicle registration
The following are required for registation of a vehicle bought in France:
- Bill of sale
- Car registration application form
- The preceding car registration papers crossed out and signed by the vendor
- Identity card or passport
- Proof of residence
- Safety check certificate carried out less than 6 mois beforehand (for vehicles more than 4 years old)
Cost: 44,50 € per tax-purpose hp or cheval fiscal (half price for vehicles over 10 years old). Cheques must be made out to Régisseur des recettes de la Sous-Préfecture.

European driving licence
The European driving licence, issued in other countries of the European Union is valid in France.
