Agriculture in Villes-sur-Auzon
Agriculture is the villages's main economic actvity. The arrival of the grape vine brought about many changes. Both
dessert and wine grapes are grown here, and produce the A.O.C. Ventoux
wines. Madder, a plant from which red dye is extracted, has been
completely abandoned, and wheat is no longer produced in large quantities.
Cherry trees are now cultivated and the olive trees, that were damaged
by frost in 1956 and 1962, are progressively recovering. |
Cherry picking lasts from May to June |
